XP update tips
I really like the new feature MS has on the XP update site, you can now d/l and save your updates on you hdd instead of going and d/ling them every time you reinstall your OS.
Go to the update site and choose the personalize windows update link then choose the show windows updates catalogue and save settings. You will now have the link listed on the update site. Click on the Windows Update Catalogue there will be options to find updates for MS operating systems, or find driver updates for hardware devices as well as an option to view d/l history. Follow the link to the Find Updates for MS operating systems, choose your OS and language then search, you now will have a list of updates to pick up for d/l. Pick the updates that apply to your system and add to d/l basket. Follow the same procedure for the drivers update section when you have all of your updates in your d/l basket, go to the update basket and review the selection if satisfied with the selection type in the d/l destination folder or browse to where you would like to save the d/l and download.
