Have you looked on the hard drive to confirm it has a restore partition?

OH, so you're currently not typing from that machine

I attempted to read through LG's web site and was told x110 isn't a valid model number. Have you had any luck on their web site when you tried to download the cd?

Hi,
Thanks for all your help. I drove 2 hours to get back to the shop where I bought my laptop and demanded my restore disc. They apologised and didn't know it was missing. I reinstalled and great no problems. Thank you to those who tried to help me.
