XP Home re-installation issues
I'm trying to reinstall XP on the same machine. Everything was going well until around 50% into the file installation portion. Started getting messages that certain files would not install. Started with wmtour.inf, then wow32.dll. I skipped a couple of these and the installation would continue. Got upto around 90% complete with about a dozen files that would not install. I finally stopped the install, tried again from the beginning and basically the same issue. This was a new build about 2 years ago and did not have this issue back then. There is one piece of hardware that I think I added since then, and will remove this in the morning and try again, but don't know if this would cause this issue.
Looking for some suggestions. TIA Chip |

Run diagnostics on the ram and hard drive. Clean the CD and CD drive. Disconnect all peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, and disconnect any card readers if you have any.

Turned out to be a bad XP diisk. Used another copy and everything loaded. At least now I know that my hard drive and memory are good after the diagnostics
