Dell 2400 help

I tried to reply to this thread..... Reformatting a Dell Dimension 2400
but it was to old to reply to so:

I hope someone can help me here. I have a dell 2400 that came with windows XP home edition. I reformatted the hard drive and installed windows XP Pro. I do not have the original software that came with the dell. (Factory never sent any)

I am having a very hard time finding any drivers now. I have gone to dells website but its no help at all. Most unfriendly user site ever. Can someone help me????

Go to support.dell.com.

Get Started
Drivers and Downloads

Choose by Service Tag, enter your service tag number off the barcode sticker on the back of the computer.

This will give you the drivers page. You need chipset, audio, video, network, and modem (if installed).

You need to read the installation instructions for each one, they are not completely self-installing. The chipset drivers must be installed first.

Yes I understand that but there are 73 different files there for the dell 2400. How do I know which ones I need. As of right now the dell can't even access the internet because I don't have the network driver. I will have to download the files on a thumb drive and transfer that way.

I already told you - chipset, audio, video, network, and maybe modem. If you choose product support, configuration, original system configuration, then put in the service tag, it will give you a list of everything in the computer that it came with. If there is more than one driver for a specific device, choose the latest one.
