Windows installer help,WIN XP
I'm having a problem with Windows installer,cant install anything ..Where can I find some easy to understand stuff to fix this problem? I'm not a computer gru...I'm om Win XP PRO sp3....

Have you cleaned your computer for virri, spyware/malware making sure your apps are up to date before scanning? If you've done all of this then take a look here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301. Hope this helps.

Have you tried doing a system restore back to a date when it still worked?

It could help other folks experiencing the same problem to give a description of what happened. You can't be the first and won't be the last. besides, confession is good for the soul, or so I'm told.
A wild guess - were you signed onto a user account with Limited privileges?? |

Give up - those are dirty words around here!
What you are trying to install? A normal program that runs under Windows? And what does it do when you start up an installation service? Still could be a virus problem but a little more info could help.... |
