Installing MCE 2005 on new hard drive (software missing)

I recently had a hard drive failure on my MCE machine. So, I went out and purchased a new hard drive. After loading up MCE 2005 with the OEM discs I am seeing some strange problems.

Some of the problems are things like IE not getting installed. Prior to the initial installation I removed my two data drives and my LAN card. After numerous reboots it still does not see any of them.

I am getting ready to wipe the drive and start over again.

I am interested in your thoughts.

Thank you.

You clicked on the START button and went to ALL Programs and didn't see IE?

I can see the test that says Internet Explorer but the icon next to it is the the file unknown type. When I click on it i get the file unknown type error.

As I remember, you have to do the following to get MCE installed:

Start with disk 1. It will prompt you for disk 2 when it's needed. At some point, you have to reinsert disk 1.

I went through the entire process as prompted. I am thinking that I will just wipe it clean and start over.
