Can't connect to some sites.
[FONT="Palatino Linotype"]
Hi. I hope I'm in the right forum. I have Windows 2000 on a stand alone computer. A couple of days ago I started not being able to connect to some sites on the internet (including my work website that I have a shortcut too). Some will open and some won't. I have flushed the DNS cache and done ipconfig/all, which came back: IP routing enabled/no and Winsproxy enabled/no. Could that be the problem? If so, how do I enable them? In case, it isn't obvious, I am technologically illiterate. Thank you. |

I'm using Internet Explorer and I think it may be 6. I have tried to update, but of course none of those sites are ones that will open. I have a cable modem hookup. I've also run Norton and I have Peer Guardian (Though I have no idea what either of those actually are-my husband's friend built this computer and put them on. The tech guy who came out last year said it was an incredible computer with everything on it) I thought possibly there was some kind of virus on it or something. Thank you.
