Hi Gang
Well here I am again, with another problem. I have this Asus P4P800-VM MOBO, and I lost me connection to the Internet, so I did all the normal things, when none of those worked, I tried to install the Ethernet drivers from the Asus disk. It would start installing the Ethernet drivers and all of a sudden go to a LAN connection, and to my understanding this is dial up connection. So I went into add and remove and deleted the Pro LAN, and went back and tried again, and it did the same thing. So I thought why not go into the Bios, and disable the LAN connection, so I did and now I am stuck with no Internet connection, no matter what I try it will not connect. I am finding it needs this for the modem connection HSP56, but when I try to install this it goes to a blue screen of death. Thanx....Gunny

No, LAN is not the dialup - that's your Ethernet. Go back into the bios, re-enable the LAN connection, and reinstall the Ethernet drivers.

Hi GLC
Well stupid is as stupid does. Things that stick in your little brain are not always right, and this was one of them. I just had the idea that LAN was Dial up, and Ethernet was DSL, or Broadband, etc. Some how I just had this mixed up. Lesson learned, thanx. I will not forget this one. Sorry so slow in getting back, have not been on the old computer much. Thanx and take care, and have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Gunny |
