Can't find Network Printer
Sorry, I know there are about a thousand such titled questions in this forum but none that I read seemed to address my issue.
I have my new laptop with Windows Vista in the shop (ugh, HP, but that's another story altogether) so I am using my "old" laptop which is a Dell latitude D620 running Wndows XP (SP2). I am working in an office which has a network printer. I had no problem finding it on the network and connecting when I was running Vista. however, under XP the only thing that comes up when I browse for network printers are the other computers hooked up to the network. Those computers appear to have a little "plus" sign next to their names to expand but when I try it does not do so. I am unable to locate the printer at all. It is a Toshiba e-Studio 352. This is the closest link I could find on the Toshiba web site: http://copiers.toshiba.com/usa/produ...STUDIO355.html Is there a way that I could find the IP address of the printer and connect to it that way? Thanks! |

How is this printer connected to the network? Is it connected to a computer and shared, or does it have a print server connected to Ethernet? If it's using a print server, does it use a proprietary print server port, or does it have a static IP? Do you have the XP driver for it? Doesn't your office have an IT person who can assist you?
