Question Line spacing

I can't get desired line spacing when using word. I select single line spacing on the tool bar and also I select single line spacing using format and I still get spacing amounting to an entire page between lines. How in the world do I correct this?

I am using XP Home.

Highlight everything (or only what you want to fix), then go to Tools > Paragraph. Under line spacing, select as appropriate (single, 1.5, double, etc)

That did not change anything.

Check this setting: Format --> Paragraph -->, on the spacing tab check the box next to line setting for the spacing before and after.

Try highlighting all of the text and type control + 1 to set it to single spaced. You can also do control + 1.5 & control + 2 for 1.5 spaced and double spaced.

None of these procedures are changing anything

If this spacing issue happens every time you start a new doc - consider seeking out and deleting the "hidden" default template file called Normal.dot

It'll get recreated next time you open Word.
** Note that you will loose any custom settings you might have added.

I have been unable to solve this problem. The way this problem acts is peculiar. When I make my first entry the entry gets located near the bottom of the page. Then my second entry reduces the line space a little bit and the next entry reduces the line space a little bit more. If I have enough entries I will end up with single line spacing otherwise I will not.

Does this shed any light on the cause of the problem?

Windows Explorer has a SEARCH function that allows you to SEARH for files on your computer.

When you find the file you click in it to Hightlight it so you can hit the Delete key
