Task bar issues

Ran into a new problem yesterday.
Logitech Setpoint was not working when I booted up. Went into the soft ware and the .exe icon would not respond.
Deleted the software and attempted to do a re-install and it went so far and quit saying I had a newer version of setpoint on the machine.
I did a search for Logitech and Setpoint and found nothing. ?????? So now I have no Logitech software showing up in the programs files. Check the control panel also for programs to change/remove and it's not there.

The bigger issue is that the items in the lower task bar, i.e. Start, and any running programs do not respond to mouse clicks most of the time. It seems as though if I wait for a couple of minutes they will respond.
The items to the right, msn, volume, avg, quicktime have the same response issues.
Basically everything in the lower task bar are not responding properly.

All other aspects are working as they should.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I'd start scanning with antivirus and antimalware. Sounds like something extra is running in the background and soaking your resources.

Try a system restore back to a date/time when it was still working properly.

Deleted everything "logitech" and had them email me new software.
Did a re-install and everything returned to normal.

Strange problem but it is all better now.
