Hi every body,
On August 2009 Microsoft installed on my PC by ''Automatic Update'' the programs(?) .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP 1. I have no idea what the hell to do with them or what they are for and they take up over 200 MB. I would like to remove them from my PC but I am afraid of the results if I do. So please help me out and save me for disaster.

You don't necessarily need NET Framework but the list of applications that need it is growing, Office 2007 is one of them. My guess is you have some apps that are using it and don't even realize it. You can remove NET Framework without harm to your computer, however, any app that need that program to run will not function properly.

If you're looking to save space, two big places are the temp files and the hotfix files. If you install CCleaner and select things carefully, you'll be able to clear them out.

If 200mb is critical, you need to get a bigger hard drive.
