Xp media center please help

Ok so I had to reinstall windows to my hp compaq laptop. I looked underneath the laptop and it said windows xp media center edition 2005. So I obtained the reinstallation cd from my local computer repair shop. I followed all the directions and here are my problems:

1 - The screen doesnt fit to my monitor. Everything is hooked up correctly and I tried using auto adjust on my monitor, I tried playing with the settings... Nothing. It will not fit to my monitor at all.

2 - The WLAN is missing. Its turned on but I guess Im missing a driver?

If I could just get the screen to fit Id be fine. Please help!!!

Check Device Manager (Right-click My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager) and see whether there's a warning message by your WLAN adapter, or whether it's even listed, and you probably want to do the same with your Display Adapter (inappropriate drivers may be what's causing the display issues).

Assuming there is a problem with either or both of these and you have a wired internet connection available, you should be able to go to the HP site, look up the model of your laptop, and download the proper drivers if necessary.

If your Device Manager checks out clean and these problems persist let us know.

Why didn't you just use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows?

Use another computer to download the drivers from HP, and use a USB flash drive to transfer them over.
