computer not booting
My computer recently began shutting down and smelling extremely hot. I thought the video card had gone out, the fan was not running any more on the video card. I bought a new video card, installed it and the computer screen comes up that says at the bottom," Boot from CD, DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER". Hmmmm. I tried putting the old video card back in, same results. I tried F11 and made sure the boot sequence was set to hard drive, then a second box opens that says, "Hard Disk SELECT A BOOT FIRST DEVICE BOOTABLE ADD IN CARDS". When I select it, the screen returns to the Boot from CD screen. Did I lose my hard drive and not the video card?
Thanks, Mark |

For all looking at this and might have the same problem, check to make sure the cable is plugged into your hard drive. Just noticed mine was out for some reason. fixed that, now back to the video card.
