boot.ini file
I have a problem with Windows deleting my boot.ini file on my C drive if I turn on Automatic Update service in the system configuration utility. If I leave that box unchecked it leaves my boot.ini file alone. Any ideas why this is happening?

The ONLY thing I can think of that might cause this would be a nasty virus.
The ini file and windows updates aren't normally related to each other. |

boot.ini revisited
Quote:
So at my first reboot after creating a new C:boot.ini file, from my C:\WINDOWS\pss folder, my computer starts normally without the boot.ini error and then erases the boot.ini file from the C drive at this first booting. My Scheduled Tasks also do not seem to work. Any ideas out there on how this can be happening? |

You should have continued this in your original thread here: boot.ini file
I'm sure one of the site staff will merge the two threads. ADMIN NOTE Threads merged, please keep all discussion of this issue in a single thread. Thank you. Last edited by glc; 01-20-2010 at 11:10 AM. |
