Outlook 2003 & AT&T sending error

I get home today and the wife tells me she can't send emails. I check and sure enough outlook give the send error, 0x00CCC7D....Something along the lines of "Your outgoing mail server does not support SSL". We've been using Outlook and AT&T for about 5 years and never seen this before.
We both use the same laptop so I check the settings on my account and compare with hers..all the same...I can send and receive, she can receive but not send. Weird, I go into mail accounts and click change then test settings and all completed so finish the setup but still would not send.
I then retype everything in the settings and then it started working.

Anyone experience this or have any ideas what happened?

I didn't change anything....

By retyping you updated the registry setting that hold the info. Doing this is known to fix many an issue

As to why it started - your guess is as good as anyones. But - little issues like this remind us how important it is to have good backups of important info in case they turn into big issues.
