Windows XP corrupt ?
I have had problems with online gaming lag for a few years.
I have had recent outstanding tech support with Qwest the last few days. They have monitored my connection and it doesn't seem to be my internet at fault. I have had XP problems that hindered online game play in the past. Before I completely reinstall Windows XP can anyone suggest what areas I might look at that would contribute to game lag ? This lag is in new games that have been recently installed and have not had the chance to be corrupted themselves. I have reinstalled other games and the problem still existed. Modem, wiring, firewall settings and anything related to the internet connection have been checked by Qwest and myself. The usual defrag, cookies, malware, startup menu etc., have been covered. A link to the best source for re installation of Windows XP would be appreciated. I hope I do not have to pay Microsoft for this. Back up your files, wipe it, and reinstall XP from scratch. You should notice a huge difference.
