Every time I run a SystemSuite system (SYS1) diagnostic, I get a BSOD, with the error
message: "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL ...Dump of Physical Memory...." Then the system reboots OK. (Just recently upgraded the motherboard) Just what does this mean? My specs: Win XP Pro, SP 2 Gigabyte EP45-UD3P Mobo Intel Core 2 Quad processor GeForce GT 220 video card 2 Gig RAM Last edited by MarkTwain; 02-04-2010 at 07:28 PM. Reason: More info |

I've never used that piece of software, and frankly, if I saw it installed, I'd uninstall it, as it looks like a piece of "snake oil" software.
Second, that error message usually indicates a RAM issue. Go ahead and grab memtest86 and boot your computer with it to see if it finds any RAM errors. Third, for security software, AVG tends to be the anti-virus software of choice, plus windows firewall, plus malwarebytes, spybot, and spywareblaster for anti-spyware software.

SystemSuite isn't "snake-oil" software...I used it hundreds of times without any problem under both W2K and Win XP Pro...
Now in its 10th version, this prpgram gets a pretty decent review: http://pc-system-utilities-software-...te-review.html I use Avast for antivirus and CounterSpy for anti-spyware. The IRQL problem started after the Gigabyte mobo install two weeks ago.... Last edited by MarkTwain; 02-05-2010 at 10:27 AM. Reason: more info |

Did you reinstall Windows after the motherboard swap?

I did a Repair/Reinstall, one which didn't require a full Re-install.

sorry but you're just looking for trouble following that method. A fresh install will always be more stable than any other method. I have never used System Suite thus will not comment on its usefulness and quality.
This would be my first step in trying to find the answer to your problem: http://www.memtest86.com/ |

www.memtest.org is a lot more up-to-date memory diagnostic.
If you didn't uninstall all the old drivers before doing your motherboard upgrade, a repair install leaves too much junk around and can cause issues. |

I did run Memtest86+, and it found no errors...
Would posting of the Minidump files from the BSOD occurances help shed some light? |

That error message (STOP) stays on the screen for a very short time...is there a key or key-combo I can hit to freeze the screen, in order to collect the info?
Thanks. |

Control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery. Uncheck restart on error.
