Angry XP boot

Working on a PC that power supply failed. Replaced PS and XP will not boot normally. It comes up with the screen with the different boot options and if Start Windows Normally is selected it boots to the XP flas screen and then starts the boot process over.

It will boot to Safe mode and Safe mode with networking so I tried using a restore point from a earlier date but that did not help. It still will only boot to Safe modes.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Chas

Boot it in safe mode, then:

Control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery - uncheck restart on error.

Instead of restarting it should give you a BSOD. The stop error will be a big clue where to start looking.

Thanks George.

Blue screen pointed to the video. Reloaded video card driver and PC came up normally.
