Bootup issues!
Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and I hope to become a regular.
Anyhow. I was asked to take a look at a computer early and was told it was doing the following. It will boot up and get through the POST then it gets a VERY quick flash of a blue screen (not sure what it says because it leaves so quickly) and then reboots. I've never seen this before and was wondering what I should take a look at first? Any help is appreciated and thanks ahead of time!! Last edited by JerkyBoy4588; 02-14-2010 at 03:42 PM. |

Control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery - UNcheck restart on error, then see what the bluescreen says and post the stop code.

Start pressing F8 after the POST screen but before Windows tries to start to get the boot menu. Look for disable restart on error, choose it. The bluescreen should freeze, read it for clues, such as the stop error codes. Google the code.
It should be something like - STOP: 0x0000007B INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE dbc: How do you expect him to do that when it won't boot into Windows? |
