Need help with drivers for cpu/gpu
Hi sorry if im posting this in the wrong forum, i am new here.
I want to upgrade my cpu and gpu drivers and possibly directx version too cause i am having some problems running several games on my pc which used to work just fine 1-2 years ago so i assume maybe its because i am still using the old drivers.but the main problem is i don't know what kinds of drivers i need and where to download them(websites), i am posting my dxdiag log so some can help and point me to the right direction, thanks. CPU's don't need drivers.
Your DirectX is up to date. NForce4 chipset drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_win2k_6.86.html Geforce video drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_196.21_whql.html |

Try updating your sound card driver too, crazy as it may seem that can affect a game's operation too.

thanks for the replays, do i need to uninstall any drivers before installing NForce4 chipset drivers and the video driver?
I am not sure where to download the latest sound card drivers. |

When I update my vid drivers, I download the new one, use device manager to remove the old vid driver, reboot and then install the new driver. I've never had any issue's following that format.

If you have problems installing the new driver for your graphics card (196.21) upon reboot, you can download and install Driver sweeper. http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/
If the new driver install's fine and doesn't prompt you with something then there's no need for downloading this.
