I'm running under Win XP Pro, SP II. Recently I tried to re-install a software program ("Board Master") and got this error message halfway thru the install:
"ltocxlln.ocx failed to self-register." (The rest of the install went OK, but when I tried to load a sample module within the program, I got a Red X error message saying, "Member not found.") (I'm sure the failure of system file ltocxlln.ocx to self-register was the cause of that program error...) That .ocx file is in my Windows system-files folder--in order to re-register it, would I do this from a command prompt? cd\windows\system regsvr ltocx11n.ocx Thanks for any feedback.... I think it should be in \windows\system32 and I think you use regsvr32.

That .ocx system file failed to self-register yet again in the reinstall of the BoardMaster program, even after my Win XP Pro OS confirmed my re-registration of ltocx11n.ocx...
The only clue I have now is: The BoardMaster copy of ltocx11n.ocx is dated 1999, while the XP Pro system copy is dated 2004.... Last edited by MarkTwain; 03-19-2010 at 06:40 PM. |

Delete the 1999 copy and replace it with the 2004 copy, and register it.

Deleted the 1999 copy, replaced it with the 2004 version and registered it...
Same results as before! |

Sounds like it's time to contact the software vendor for support.

The original vendor no longer has a web site...
BoardMaster had a great run for its time, but applications shouldn't be posted on web sites when they're no longer supported! But plenty of programs are still hanging out there, with no chance for updates or support-- does anybody track this sort of thing? Meanwhile, I will try out the freeware program StoryBoard Pro, as an alternate to BoardMaster http://www.atomiclearning.com/storyboardpro Thanks for your feedback, glc.
