I think I may have downloaded a virus or trojan of some sort. When I double click on an app, I get a "Run as" administrator dialog box. The only way I can open an app now is to right click and choose "start" for the app to open. I've searched the web for a fix for this problem, but nothing's worked so far. I've done a full blown virus scan with McAfee and Malwarebytes to no avail.
Finally, after opening "Task Manager", I notice that there was one app running. The app was entitled "hgukgjkgjdf". Before I attempt to end the app, I've been trying to find out via the web what it is...again no luck! I'm not even sure if this app is related to the "Run as" dialog box problem. I checked the Add/Remove Programs list and found nothing that looked related to "hgukgjkgjdf". If anyone has any ideas, PLEASE HELP! ![]() I'm running XP Pro Service Pk 3. |

Scanning with Malwarebytes in Safe Mode seems to have removed whatever was causing the problem.
Sometimes it's the simplest of solutions. Thank you EzyStvy!!! |
