Thumbs down SPF System File & BSOD

I'm using Sunbelt Personal Firewall, running under Win XP Pro, SP II.

Today I got a BSOD, with the message:

Sbhips.sys Address B81C9BB1 base at B81C8000, Datestamp 485a77cb

Do I assume that the system driver file Sbhips.sys is necessarily the culprit here?

IF so, as Sbhips.sys is a Sunbelt Personal Firewall system file, will disabling this file stop the BSOD that I assume is caused by this .sys file?

Or is this .sys driver used by other Windows applications, and would disabling it cause me
further grief?

Meanwhile, I did scan my OS for viruses and malware, and found no infections....

CRASH

Thanks for the link...

I understand Sunbelt has been advising other users who encounter this problem to "disable HIPS" on the firewall--but doesn't that also disable a feature that prevents dangerous intrusions?

Damned if you do, damned if you don't?

For the record, I ran MemTest86+ today, and found no errors....
