Hi old-timer,
If the hard disc is busy all the time, is it possible that some RAM has died and the system is having to page-out a lot of stuff? HTH Chris |

I have Windows XP running on a dual 2, 32 bit processor with 4GB of memory. I found svchost.exe system using 40 to 50% CPU time. I downloaded the critical update for my HP OfficeJetPro L7680 AllInOne,dated 4-9-10 and the problem has gone away. You can find the update at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...roduct=2512009
