Windows 98 and new technology

Is there a cutoff point when Windows 98 will not be compatible with a certain generation of computer components?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 with Vista Home Premium and there are several old games that I wasn't able to play on XP (so obviously not on Vista) but had played on 98 (And possibly 2000) that I'd like to play again. Is a dual boot setup With 98/Vista possible so that I can play the games on my laptop?

What games? There's some emulation software available that allows you to play older games on newer operating systems.

Got DOSBox and after some research to learn the commands I needed to get it installed, I am playing Dungeon Keeper with no problems.

I'm going to look into compatibility mode for my old desktop with XP.

I'm using an Inspiron 1720 with Vista for DOSBox.

I installed 98se on vmware about a month ago and once I clicked the start button I got blue screen

I installed it to play the ooollddddd Magic The Gathering game that WILL NOT work on any other operating system no matter what I tried.

If you really need to run Win98, dig an old computer out of the trash. CPU needs to be slower than 2.1 GHz, max ram 512mb, and max hard drive size 60gb. There are ways around those limits, but not worth the hassle.
