exporting bookmarks
need to reformat hdd and reinstall winxp
want to retain my bookmarsks how can this be done (ie with a usb thumbdrive or other methods)?? TX ------------------------------- |

That depends on the browser. In Firefox and IE you can go into bookmark organizer and "save a backup". IE will make a website (or something like that) while Firefox will make a Jason file.
When you have freshed your computer you go to bookmark organizer and load the file for your browser. With Google Chrome you just synchronize your bookmarks with your g-mail user. |

TX..it is IE 8.0
how do i access "bookmark organizer"?? have never done this procedure

Go into your user profile (Documents and settings\username) and copy the whole Favorites folder to a thumb drive.

The organizer is in;
File > Import & export > Choose export to file. Then you can export your Rss feeds, bookmarks (favorites) and settings. Or you can do as glc said :P |
