annoying problem

i got a real annoying problem. when i double click on my hard drive, cd and usb icon in direct me to search result, which i find it really annoying. could you guys gimme a clue how i could solve this. btw i am using Window Xp SP2.

That sounds like a meanie. I would suspect a viirs. They like to take basic funtions and toy with you. Are you running any type of virus protection? Check it's settings and do a manual scan, make sure it' set for 'complete' or 'full' scan.
