Windows Update

I keep on getting the message to install these updates, but they always fail.

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP x86 (KB979909)
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Update for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x86 (KB982168)
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 Update for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x86 (KB982524)
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for .NET versions 2.0 through 3.5 (KB951847) x86
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 Security Update for Windows 2000 and Windows XP (KB979906)
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP (KB974417)
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for .NET versions 2.0 through 3.5 (KB951847) x86

Best bet is to uninstall any and all .Net Frameworks on the PC and reinstall.

note for posterity

I had this same problem, and was unable to uninstall the .net apps.
You must use the cleanup tool link at the above mentioned microsoft page. Choose to uninstall all versions. After reboot, go to the microsoft automatic update site and scan for updates. Although all the .net's will be listed, only 1 or 2 will get reloaded. Go back to the site and re-scan until all have been re-captured. What a pain; hope this helps someone........

I had this happen on Windows XP sp3 and found on this site here fixed it http://www.computing.net/answers/win...ll/168414.html

I read throw it and one thing I did was type in the run box was regsvr32 wintrust.dll and this worked before I even had to do any of the other things posted on there, But I would try the other posts ideas before this one anyways.
