BSOD "invalid work queue item"
Using win XP Pro SP3
During my search to find out why I occasionally get a startup BSOD with a "invalid work queue item" message, I learned about the bootlog file, ntbtlog.txt. It turns out that it only reports which drivers were loaded and which weren't. I compared the log of a good boot with one of an error boot and they're identical except there are four occurrences of "Loaded driver \SystemRoot\system32\drivers\kmixer.sys" in the good boot compared to only one in the bad boot. Odd, but it doesn't seem that it would be the cause of anything - especially because it occurred in the good boot. The nine occurrences of a driver not loading were the same in both logs. Because the BSOD "invalid work queue item" error occurs randomly, can anyone suggest what else I can do to diagnose the problem? Thanks, EdP |
