Have problesm with XP Pro on Two Machines

Yesterday, I uninstalled Vista from my wife's Toshiba laptop and reinstalled XP Pro.. On my daughters computer, I installed a new HD, and XP Pro that came from my dead pc.. Now every thing went smooth as far as basic install goes. But after getting all updates from MS that is were the problems began..

On both machines when you first boot to the desktop I get this message on both machines.

Ie4uinite.exe-Entry point not found

The procedure enty point runsetup commandw could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVPACK.dll

Next if you open up IE8 and try to go any were all you get after you hit enter is this.

"The requested look key was not found in any active activation context."

Now I get this same message on both machines even if I go to start and try to open up any programs on the pc itself..

Has anyone ran into this probem yet, and knows what caused it? Thanks

I've seen it a couple times, DD5. Try uninstalling IE8 and don't use Windows Update to reinstall it. Download IE8 direct from MS to your desktop and install from there.

Uninstall IE8 and leave it off - and use Firefox or Opera.

Once you have IE8 installed, go back to Windows Update or MS Update and run all the updates again. Seems like one of the updates fixed the crashing issue.
