Save/Upload file defaults to Date Created order

It seems as of late when I attempt to save/upload a file it is defaulted in order date created. To clarify, my Windows Explorer is not effected by this but only when I attempt to "choose a file" in some way. As in clicking "browse" to upload a file or when searching for a save directory. So every time I attempt to upload/find a file I have to rearrange the folder by name, which quickly is becoming a hassle.

I've tried searching the problem but I can't even think of a proper search string to do so and turn up little help. Anyone know how to properly change the default?

Try this - open a folder and sort it the way you want, then in your Folder Options, View - uncheck the box for "remember each folder's view settings", then hit the Apply to All Folders button.

Thanks for the response, glc. Unfortunately, this is not for Windows explorer, which is acting fine. This is for the small window that opens up when I attempt to download/upload a file and I must find it or place it somewhere. Though this is not only happening in Firefox, it's pretty much anytime the "smaller" file directory opens up. I attached a picture if I'm confusing you.

The picture enclosed is of my MP3 directory. As you can see, it's being order by last modified instead of alphabetical. I've attempted to right click > Arrange Icons By > Name, but every time I reopen that window (no matter the application) it defaults to date modified.

I can't really recall when or how it even changed. Thanks again.

Did you try it? That is really a Windows Explorer window.

I did try it, but it only seems to have corrected itself in certain applications. Utorrent shows the same folder in alphabetical order while Firefox is still defaulting in date created. Same folder, different view? Strange.
