Support for Windows XP Service Pack 2 ends on July 13, 2010
Support for Windows XP Service Pack 2 ends on July 13, 2010
http://forum.pcmech.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=9 OK, so what does it really mean to the XP end users? It's my understanding that XP will be supported until 2014. Does all this mean there will be no more SP2 updates available online from MS, but SP3 and all updates beyond SP3 will be available online from MS until 2014? ---pete--- |

That's correct - the only update that will be available will be SP3 itself.

So if someone has XP SP1, they could still download SP3 and all of the updates would still be in SP3? I ask because the XP disc to my old Dell at work has SP1. If I get the computer working, I would want to update to SP3.

What you might want to do is download the full admin SP3 install package and save it somewhere.
