Can Outlook Files be copied/retrieved?

I'm helping a friend recover data from a hhd that was trashed by a virus. He removed the virus with AV software and it must have trashed the OS (XP Pro) because all the drive will do now is start to reboot into Windows and then it immediately restarts, over and over again. I connected the hdd to my computer and I can see his data and copied most of his files from My Documents, etc. He would like to recover his Outlook files from Office 2000. Is this possible? If so, where do I look and what files to I copy? I was not able to boot the drive into Windows to make a PST backup file so I'm not sure what to do next, or if all is lost. TIA.

Here ya go Ron.

If you are using Windows XP or Windows 2000, the files are in the following locations:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

To see the PST files in Windows XP, paste this line on the address bar of Windows Explorer:

%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
To access the folder holding the toolbar, Outlprnt, VBA, rules, and nickname files, use the following line in Windows XP:

%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Also look for N2K files. Those contain the auto-completed addresses in the "to" fields that might not necessarily be in the address book.
