windows xp install issue.

heres a bombshell i cant seem to get past, and i think i know how to fix it, but before i attempt this i would like a second or third or twentieth opinion.

the error is a bsod (stop @ 0x0000007b) on installing windows xp on a laptop i just got yesterday (im using it right now)

the laptop is an asus p50ij. its nothing too top of the line, but it aught to be enough to run protools. the reason i am installing xp (sp2) is because the version of protools i own is not compatible with 7, even in compatibility mode.

i figured it would be no biggie to dual boot the laptop just like i did to my mom's, but im getting this stop error.

my research shows this is most likely a HDD controller issue, and the only apperent fix is a floppy driver (which i dont have) using the f6 deal to install the driver for windows during the install. is this correct?

the HD is:wdc3200bevt

i also found this, and im going to give it a try. if this works, we shhould talk to the author and sticky it. seriously...
