Problems Installing a New Printer

Without judging my choice of printers, I did it for cheap ink and bought this thing for a good price, I am having a problem trying to install the software and connect the printer. I have a Kodak All-in-One ESP 5250 printer and I am at the stage of the installation where you insert the CD disc to install the software and connect the printer. As soon as the CD starts to load the following error in a small box pops up headed "Caspol.exe-Fatal error and just below that CLR error:80004005". If you click OK another similar box pops up with the following "Kapmaster.exe-Fatal error and the same CLR code"' A search on Google states that Kapmaster is a type of Malware however I can't see why Kodak would install Malware on their install disc. I have even tried downloading the install from their site and the same results. I contacted Kokak Support and they suggested ensuring the WINDOWS installer was installed and to update to a current one from Microsoft which I did. No luck, same error. I'm running out of time to return the printer for a refund. ANy suggetsions? As always thanks for your assistance.

I should mention I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP3 and have more than enough RAM, disc space etc to handle the softwrae.

go to the kodak website and download the drivers and software on a flash drive and transfer to the cumputer using the printer. Start your installation from that, the drivers and software are probable old on the cd anyway.

I have been searching the net to find out how to locate and or repair the Caspol.exe but it isn't user friendly. Shouldn't this already be on the computer? I tried loading the software for my daugters printer and it will work. Must be something with the code Kodak has right at the beginning of the install software.

I had to uninstall .Net 2 file as it was corrupt and download and install a clean version. Printer software loaded after.
