Office 2000: Can't remove from startup list.
--------------------------------------------------
PROBLEM: Outlook 2000 loads on startup, even after removal from startup list. It uses too many resources. SYSTEM: Windows 98 2nd ed, Pentium III, 550 mhz, 128 mb ram, 32 bit file system, 10.2 gigs, 56K Conexant modem. SOFTWARE: Internet Explorer 5.5, Windows 98 (2nd ed.), Outlook Express 5.5, Microsoft Office 2000, MALFUNCTIONs: I use run-msconfig-startup to remove Outlook 2000 from my startup list. However, it remains TSR (terminate, stay resident). That is, after I reboot, it puts itself back in the list & still loads on startup. MY QUESTION: How can I keep Outlook 2000 out of my startup list? ------------------------------------------------- PS: NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS! PLEASE RESPOND TO taylor99m@hotmail.com Note the reversal of characters in the address, please. I will try to re-register, using the new e-mail address. ------------------------------------------------- |

I use a little program called Startup Cop. It works really well. Not sure where I got it, but do a search maybe like on google and you'll be able to find it, if not email me and I'll find it for you.

Can't unzip StartUpCop (using ZipZilla)
I downloaded StartUpCop. However, my ZipZilla can't unzip it. Don't know why.
Is there another utility that might work? taylorm99 |

I downloaded a damaged StartUpCop file from Bootdisk. After 3 downloads, Winzip still says it's a damaged file.
Other freeware websites all seem to switch me to ZDNet for the download. However, every time I try to download at ZDNet, it freezes up my whole computer. So, if someone can send me a good copy of StartUpCop, I would appreciate it. Thanks for the help. taylorm99 |

StartUpCop will not install....
Thank you, framerw47, for the copy of StartUpCop. It downloaded but froze every time in the install. Reading the registration agreement, seems it could be a lockout to keep it from being shareware.
Anyone suggest another startup utility? taylorm99 |

I don't know what to tell you. It may have got corrupted somehow during the email process. You might try www.nonags.com. There may be something there that can help you. Look under "Power tools". There is a program listed there(I can't remember the name) but it looks like it might work.
