Word Evnvelope printing problem

I can print in Word or Excel fine, I can print labels in Word 97 fine, but when I choose the envelope tab and print, I get the little printer thing in the bottom of word indicating it is sending the info to the printer, then right as the I can click close or ignore and the Epson 740 window opens up as if it is going to print, but it never does and another Epirpe20 window pops up that says "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down". I have reinstalled word 97, copied over a new Epirpe20.exe file from another computer running Win98, deleted everything in the Windows/spool/printers directory, and reinstalled the printer directory. I just used this function last week and many many times before with no problems. I can't find anything on the windows help pages and I don't even know if this is a Win98 problem or a Word problem or a Printer problem.
