Accessing files
I know this came up before and I have done it, but I can't find it after searching a while. I am trying to access some files on the old hard drive on the computer I am working on. These were in my password protected user account, but it will not let me access them. I haven't looked, but presume my user account set up initially on the one I am working on is an ADMIN. I haven't assigned passwords or anything on it yet as I am updating things first.

Have you tried taking possession of those files/folders?
Right click on the folder > Properties > Security > Advanced > Owner > from the list choose yourself or any 'Administrators' > click OK.

I had sort of tried that, but that exact path doesn't work and I see no way to get there.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I had wondered if perhaps it had to be in safe mode or something.

It does have to be in safe mode logged in as Administrator if it's XP Home.
