slow load win xp sp3
issue: win xp sp3 stalls on boot up
machine" IBM thinkpad r23 P4 1.7 with 512 ram ----------------------------------------- halfway during winxp boot up (on "windows setting up screen)..all hdd activity ceases for about 2 minutes and then- winxp loads and runs fine. cause/cure?? tx |

Have you run hard drive diagnostics? Chkdsk /f ?

Did run cc cleaner, avira antivirus scan and malware bytes Will try chkdsk |

Start->Run-> type: MSCONFIG
Look in the start up tab. USB devices that are plugged in can also cause a slow down.
