fqpissed Dial Up Connection

Hello All:

I'm sure this is a common problem and easy to fix. My dial up connection will not disconnect when exiting from IE 5.5. I have checked the properties under the DNS to make sure the appropriate box is checked to disconnect when it is not needed. Also I have recreated the connection with the same parameters - all to no avail. Is a reinstall of the direct networking feature required? Oh yeah, I'm running Win ME.

Thanks,

-B

Right-click your connection icon in Dial-Up networking folder, and under the dialing tab, check the box that says "Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed". I think this will solve your problem.

Did you try uninstalling and re-installing the ISP Software?

I have no software from the ISP. Just instructions on how to set up the dial up connection (tel#, ppp etc.) However, I think you've helped answer my own question. I think I'll uninstall dial-up networking feature in Windows, then reinstall it and create the connection once again.

Thanks,
