how do I turn on DMA?

How do I turn on DMA for my dvd and cdr drives? I have windows 2000.

In control panel - system devices - hardware IDE/ATAPI - click on either primary or secondary Ide controller - advanced settings - and there you go - if Win2k thinks your drive is DMA capable then it wil be turned on by default..
If it thinks that the drives aren't DMA capable then the option will be greyed out..No way to change..
