Question My mic doesnt work?????

Hey all I just finished my first build to success!!!!
I want to say THNX to everyone who helped me through these last few months to learn what I needed to. I feel like an expert. However, I am an expert whos mic doesnt work. Quick sys rundown:

SOYO DRAGON
XP1800 athalon
512 meg crucial ram DDR
60 GIG hard drive
Radeon 8500
bla bla bla bla

My mic doesnt work...
If I uncheck mute on the volumes panel I get to hear myself through the speakers. But I have to get right on the mic for it to work. I cant get anything to record in sound recorder tho.... Any suggestions?

If you are using ms sound recoreder, go to edit > audio properties and choose a sound recording device.

I also just built a dragon+ system and had a little trouble with the mic. I finally right-clicked the speaker icon on the task bar and selected open volume controls and the mic was muted. That fixed mine. This may be elementary but be sure your mic is plugged into the "pink" plug on the motherboard.

CHA stands for Chassis and if you're refering to the Smart Guardian it refers to the internal temperature of your case. CHA RPM refers to the rpm of the three pin chassis (case) fan if you have one.

Good Luck
