Migrating to new computer

I have just purchased a new computer utilizing Windows X. P. operating system. I wish to transfer the following items from my old computer that was operating under the millennium system. Gator (I know that it is spy ware), print key, atomica, all of my favorites from Internet Explorer, all of my documents from Word 97, copy paste and my AddressBook from outlook. I wish to do this by utilizing my CD writer. All of my major programs I will reinstall using the original software. If you could tell me how to use my CD writer to facilitate this exchange it would be greatly appreciated. I will pretty much need click by click instructions if you know what I mean.

PS Windows Explorer has become my default media player. How do I change this?

First you have to tell us which CD burning tool you are using (nero, ez cd creator ...)
TO make windows media player your default player open it and go to tools > options > file types and select all.

You could do this..
Connect the OLD har ddrive tothe WinXp computer as Slave - then just pull the programs over there - this will leave quite few of them in none working condidions as the needed REGISTRY entries aren't found on the WinPX drive. this also is true for if you burn them to a CDR..

As for Address Book this is easy just use the import function in OE or Outlook..
Same goes for the mails.. this can be done form either direct the connected hard drive or the Cdrom...

As windows Explorer is default media player I guess you are talking about IE -- as Long you don't specify what program to use to play your media files WMP will do the job..

If the old computer is still working,You can export Gator's password list(right click it and you'll see.
Export to where you want to(floppy is good).
Download the latest Gator and import the files.(same way)
This way you'll have Gator installed to work with XP.
With your favorites, you can save them to floppy and basically do the same thing.
Same goes with address book and documents.
Remember,if you simply copy Gator,it will not function,as it must be installed.
Or you can burn them to cd,however, depending on the size of your documents, they may all fit on a floppy. You'll have to be the judge of that.
