Setting up multiple user profiles

I've had one computer in my home set up with 3 user profiles for six months. I set it up myself six months ago. All three users had their own email folders with their own accounts. All were completely seperate. The path to the each user's mail folders was C:\windows\profiles\*user name*\application data\indentities\{a string of numers, spaces and hyphens}\microsoft\outlook express.

Yesterday I had to reformat c-drive. After installing the common software I created my 3 profiles. The problem is that as soon as I import old saved messages and folders to any profile, that set of folders becomes common to all profiles.

They are being imported or copied into C:\windows\application data\identities\....\outlook express instead of the individual profile folders. And everybody's outlook express has that path as the location for saving messages.

What did I do wrong in the setup? How can I correct it?

I hope the problem is clear. Thanks for your help.

BTW: the OS is 98SE

Steve
