Networking from an NT Box to a Mainframe

I posted this in the Network forum and I have 32 reviews and no answers. Wonder if someone here can answer this for me.

Here at work I constantly map drive letters to directories on NT servers by using DOS and the "net use * \\server\directory" command. One of the people I am working with is trying to map a drive letter to a mainframe system. He informed me that he is doing it the same way we always do it for the NT servers, but it's not working. For whatever reason it's not mapping.
Question:
When mapping to mainframes in DOS (it has to be DOS because these users are locked and there is no other way of mapping to drives when logged in as them) what is the command?

Help would be appreciated.
