At my work place we still use Win 95, and I need a little expert advice on how to remove an icon from the Task Bar.
Please don't hurt youself laughing, in several months we are going to win 2000. Any help would be appreicated. Ron |

Hello,
what icon do you mean ? Do you mean an icon in systray ? Or do you mean an icon in the quicklaunch bar (if it's Win95B and up) ? RJ

Win 95 tray
It's the tray on the right side of the screen at the bottom, it's an icon put there by Norton Speedstart. It's win95B.

The icon in systray indicates that norton speedstart is running in the background.
So do you just want to remove the icon but still want norton speedstart running ? This is only possible if Norton speedstart supports disabling systray icon. Not every program does. If you want to prevent speedstart from starting automatically at startup remove it from the startup folder (start > programs > startup). If it's not there go to start > run and type in "regedit". Then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run and look if it's there. Also look in RunOnce, Run-, well anything with Run. Also look in the Run folders at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run HTH RJ |
