hey, i just got myself win2k pro!!
so i am thinking of installin now. Can anyone tell me what i should look out for during the installation? i have 2 drives, primary 8.4gig ide with 4gig space free, and a completely new 60gig uda66 5400rpm drive partitioned into 2 30gig drives. should i install the 2k on my 8.4 gig? also, if i install 2k on my 8.4 gig, where all my progs r - do i have to re-install all my progs like office, inside win2k again? if i do this will office still run under win 98? thanks |

Yep you'll have to re-install any progies. You can read about my set-up in other posts here. (98 on one drive - w2k on another - data shared by both).
It's nice because if you want say, a bookmark from win98 while you're in w2k, you can browse to the C drive and get it. To me, win2k is much more stable feeling and also seems to work web pages much faster. Good luck, |

I set mine up as 98 on one hdd and win2k on another hdd, (on 2 pc's the same). You can install win2k on first hdd but I would recommend installing 98 on primary and win2k on secondary. Load win98 then when you are done, pop in win2k cd and run from within 98, easy to do, just make sure you install it on the secnd drive!

at the moment i have win me installed on drive c:
now, i got another drive partitioned into 2 But the second drive is setup as a slave. So should i still install win2k on the second drive/first partition?? |

It doesnt really matter which drive/partition you install 2K on, but what you propose makes as much sense as anything. If you want to be able to access your Win2K partition from ME, make sure you make it FAT32 and not NTFS.
