I am thinking of purchasing a scanner. I have Windows NT4 operating system and it seems to me that a SCSI scanner would be the best option.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best SCSI scanner available? |

How much do you want to spend? If you are trying to go cheap, look at Umax or Acer. If you want something upscale, look at HP, Microtek, or Epson.

Umax Astra 2400S
Epson Perfection 1200S HP Scanjet 6200/6300 series Microtek Scanmaker X12 Note - some of these are dual mode USB/scsi and may not come with a scsi card. |

Thanks glc,
I have done some research on all 4 of the scanners that your suggested. I have ruled out the HP 6200/6300 series since they are a little too pricy and require the purchase of an additional SCSI card. The Umax Astra 2400S is in within my price range, however, it has a basic 600 DPI while all of the others are 1200 DPI. I cannot determine what software or SCSI card comes with the Microtek Scanmaker X12. I am undecided between the Epson Perfection 1200S and an HP 5200/5300. See my post under peripherals for more details about my dilemna regarding each of the above scanners.
