I have been looking for a good site that explains how to setup a home network using XP home edition. All the information I find is always using XP Pro so I go along and come to options/functions I dont have.
I found this site in another post http://www.practicallynetworked.com/...ring/index.htm which when I read it sounded exactly what I needed but there are security options that XP Home does not have or I can not find. So I guess my question is - is there a HowTo site on setting up a home network using XP Home Edition. Thanks |

1. Disable Simple Filesharing
Rightclick on a folder and select "unblocking". Then select the users who should get access to this folder! 2. If you want to give everybody in the network access to a folder, the best is to activate the guest user. It is normally disabled That's how to do: Start->Settings->"Systemcontrol"(or what it is called in engl.)->management ->lokal security(-"line") then: lokal directives->assign user rights then search for: disable access from network to this pc and open it. then delete the user guest in there. than search for: access this pc from network open it and add user guest then it should work, for everybody.(if that's what you want!)
